Faculty Toolbox for the CBC Library

Use this guide to determine the best way for you to integrate librarians into your instruction

What is the Embedded Librarian model?

The embedded librarian model refers to an ongoing instructional collaboration between the discipline faculty and library faculty. In most cases, the library faculty member is added as a TA or Librarian to the course shell, giving them access to interact on discussion boards, add modules, and observe the flow of course instruction.

In the robust example below, Fatima Machado spent forty (40) hours creating content for students, providing instruction, and assisting the students in general. When we can re-use existing instructional content and update small portions to reflect your unique class, the commitment level for your liaison librarian drops substantially!

This module is an example of an introduction to library research and includes a moderated discussion board, videos, asychronous lecture, and evaluation.
